A native from the buckeye state of Ohio, my family began the relocation to Arizona
in 1957. I attended Southern Arizona School for Boys in Tucson graduating in
1962. One year of college back in the home town of Delaware, Ohio at Ohio Wesleyan
University was enough of cold weather for me and I transferred to the University
of Arizona in Tucson to finish my undergraduate degree in 1967. While attending
the University of Arizona I was one of the founding members of the Chi
Phi Fraternity.
I joined the Navy Reserve and ended up in the one-half of one percent of the Navy that ever served a shore duty in Vietnam. After returning from Nha Trang, Vietnam I was able to be released early from active duty and immediately went to graduate school at the American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale (Phoenix), Arizona. After receiving a second undergraduate degree and a Master's degree in International Management I was hired and worked for a stock brokerage firm in London, England. That led to a similar job in Zurich, Switzerland. Although I enjoyed living very much in Europe, I returned to Tucson to join the family businesses of owning and managing automobile franchises.
With many prior years of Board of Directors positions with the Tucson Symphony and the Advisory Board for Public Broadcasting, I am currently serving with the Grand Canyon Music Festival Board of Directors. Our music festival season performances are held annually in September at the Grand Canyon.
The family decision to sell out of the automobile businesses in 1980, saw the final franchise sold by 1988. I then attended real estate school and began another full time career. I received my real estate broker's license in 1992.
